USA - I need to find a Hadoop engineer ASAP to help my customer build out a enterprise 6-10 rack cluster ASAP (5PB roughly 1:1 storage/compute) Details that are currently available: Project to begin immediately- go live date is June 1st and candidate would be needed for tuning and break fix after that. I would anticipate 6-12 months. Onsite in SF 5 days a week to start, flex and WFH after SF is comfortable with candidate and work Need architecture level expertise or very strong skill set Weekly Status update reports required to Customer and ACS team- strong communication and documentation Planning to build on Open Compute hardware standards Greenfield, no current cluster- Ideal candidate has built their own cluster (yahoo, facebook, linkedin would be great source companies) No test cluster- going to have to build and tune Not decided if using a distro like Horton or cloudera For large IT dept and eventually customer data on prod side- so this cluster will be used across enterprise.
